Slotland's Jackpot Nearing $200,000 and Could Reach Record Level
Slotland's Jackpot Nearing $200,000 and Could Reach Record Level
Site-wide progressive jackpot felt due for hit
http://winsgame.com/slotland
29 August 2012 (London, UK) – Slotland.com’s progressive jackpot is quickly approaching $200,000, heading toward an all time high. Since it’s won so frequently it rarely gets this big. Regular players commenting on Facebook page seem to think there will be a $200K payout any day now.
“I think it’ll go over $200,000, hope I win it!” said Connie W. on the popular casino’s Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/Slotland) where players exchange stories and get special notice of bonuses and tournaments.
“I predict it’ll go just over $200,000 this time. I'm saying $202,000. Let's see!” posted Linda B.
Over the years, Slotland’s average jackpot win has been about $150,000. The progressive has only gotten as high as it is now three times in the last four years. Last November, Henry W. won $207,241 -- Slotland’s biggest jackpot ever -- playing Treasure Box, one of the popular casino’s very first real money slot games.
“Players that have been playing with us for many years know that our jackpot is usually won every six to eight weeks, almost like clockwork. The last big win was in April, though, so lots of players feel it’s well overdue for a hit,” said Slotland Manager Michael Hilary. “Of course it’s totally random, but it’s usually hit not long after it reaches $150,000. So anyway you look at it we just have a feeling we’ll be announcing another jackpot winner very soon!”
All no download slots at Slotland.com are tied to one jackpot so it increases quite quickly again when it’s reset to $50,000 after a win. With most games a max bet must be placed to qualify for the jackpot.
Slotland offers twenty-six one-of-a-kind online slots and video poker games. Several are also available as mobile slots. A new auto-racing themed game is expected to make its debut next month.

Grandfather wins progressive jackpot playing 'Fair Tycoon' at instant play casino
30 July 2012 (London, UK) – WinADay Casino players knew that once the casino’s site-wide progressive jackpot reached $150,000 it couldn’t be long before it was hit. And it was. Kevin W. won $161,577 when he hit the jackpot earlier this month playing the Fair Tycoon slot game.
Kevin has been a player at WinADay since shortly after the instant play casino opened 4 years ago. He said he likes to play the Fair Tycoon slot machine game once in awhile because he loves the sim city type fair-building game that’s built into it as a bonus game. His favourite games are actually Hold the Riches, Chinatown and Jackpot Jinni though. Although he wins smaller amounts quite frequently, this is obviously his biggest slots win ever.
“I used to play at a different online casino every month, it seemed,” said the winner. “But I really like the games at WinADay, and they keep adding new ones. So why waste time looking around when I can spend that time playing!”
“Winning so much money was a complete surprise, of course. I still haven’t decided what to do with it,” said the stunned winner. “It’ll be fun choosing gifts for my wife and kids and grandchildren. And I think we should all go on a great vacation together. Then I’ll think about what to do with the rest – if there is any!”
The last big jackpot win at WinADay was in May when Jody K, a young mother on maternity leave, won $171K playing Enchanted Gems.
“We should name our jackpot ‘Old Faithful’” laughed Michael Hilary, the Casino Manager at WinADay. “Of course it’s completely random, but it still seems to be won quite regularly every six or eight weeks.”
Slots, video poker, roulette and keno -- WinADayCasino has 32 one-of-a-kind casino games not available at any other casino. The progressive jackpot was re-set to $50,000 after this win and is already over $65,000 again.

Mega Millions Jackpot All Mine, Maryland MD Woman Claims
MegaMillions Jackpot All Mine, MD Woman Claims
By Stephanie Rabiner, Esq. at FindLaw.com
Tue Apr 3, 2012
If Mirlande Wilson is telling the truth, then the public should brace itself for yet another MegaMillions lawsuit.
The self-proclaimed Maryland MegaMillions winner is already inviting controversy, having announced that she has no plans to share the jackpot with her McDonald's co-workers. The alleged winning ticket, which she refused to show the New York Post, may have been purchased with lottery pool funds.
Sound familiar? It should.
Just last month, a New Jersey jury ordered a MegaMillions winner to share his jackpot with a group of co-workers. The man had purchased tickets with pooled funds, but claimed he bought the winning ticket with his own money.
Mirlande Wilson's co-workers are telling a similar story, according to the Post. A group of about 15 individuals put money into the pot and then sent Wilson to buy the tickets. The list of participants and the group tickets were then put in the restaurant safe. But on Friday, the owner says he gave her another $5 for the pool. She bought the additional numbers from the 7-11 that sold the winning Maryland MegaMillions ticket.
Wilson told the Post that this second batch was hers. Her co-workers -- and the Post reporters -- are skeptical of her story.
If Mirlande Wilson is indeed the winner, you can almost certainly expect a lawsuit. The winning Maryland MegaMillions ticket is worth $105 million. Even if the McDonald's employees can't afford an attorney, someone out there will undoubtedly take the case on contingency. It's just too much money to let go.

Mega Millions jackpot is largest in U.S. history
Mega Millions jackpot is largest in U.S. history
Associated Press
Thursday, March 29, 2012
Providence, R.I. -- People queuing up for Mega Millions tickets aren't the only ones salivating over the record $540 million jackpot that could be won today - some state governments struggling through lean times know a hometown winner would bring a tax bonanza.
Taxes on a lump-sum payment option to a single winner could mean tens of millions of dollars of badly needed revenue that could go to restore entire social service programs on the chopping block, pay for hundreds of low-income housing units, forestall new taxes or hire more state troopers.
So many tickets have been sold that the jackpot climbed Thursday to the largest in U.S. lottery history, according to officials in Rhode Island, one of 42 states where Mega Millions is played. If a lone winner took the lump-sum payout on the jackpot's current amount, it would be an estimated $389.8 million.
"I'd love it if a Rhode Islander wins," said Rep. Helio Melo, the chairman of the House's Finance Committee.
In Rhode Island, when the tax man comes calling for his 5.99 percent, that would mean an estimated $23.3 million, forked over in a single payment.
With it, the state could pay for most of a $25 million bond for affordable housing that voters may be asked to approve this fall. It could also help Rhode Island reach its goal for aid to school districts for the first time. The state, which has a $7.9 billion budget, is $22 million short.
A big lottery windfall wouldn't solve the state's fiscal woes, but it could help chip away at the debt, pay for one-time expenses or delay budget cuts or tax increases -at least for a year, Melo said.
States set their own tax rates on lottery winnings. New York, for instance, charges 8.82 percent, while several, including California, charge none.
Ohio's share of the lump-sum payout would be $23 million, hardly pocket change but still a fraction of the state's $56 billion two-year budget.
"We're not holding our breath waiting for a tax windfall for the state, but we will always root for Ohio and Ohioans and hope lottery luck comes to a Buckeye," said Joe Testa, the state's tax commissioner.
Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee has said the state, which is facing a $117 million budget shortfall next fiscal year, can't rely on those lottery winnings - and, of course, no state can. But his director of administration recently weighed in, saying of the tax payment: "We're happy to collect it."
