In light of today's news that Alderney Gambling Control Commission has suspended Full Tilt Poker's license, PokerStars wishes to assure our customers that their funds are completely safe and that our operations are completely unaffected. The Isle of Man Gaming Commission today re-affirmed that PokerStars' worldwide licensing is intact and that our operations are in full compliance with all of its requirements. PokerStars' online operations continue as normal and all funds in players' accounts are safe and available for withdrawal as usual with no delays. 

PokerStars also remains in full compliance with our licenses in other jurisdictions where we are regulated, including France, Italy and Estonia. 

As provided under our licensing, PokerStars has always maintained the integrity and security of our players' funds, by keeping all such funds in segregated bank accounts, always available for immediate withdrawal. 

Since the actions of US Department of Justice in April, we have returned more than $120 million to US players and continue to act upon requests as they are received. Players outside the US have not been affected and all cash-outs have been processed without delays. Further, PokerStars entered into an agreement with the Department of Justice which expressly confirmed the company's ability to operate outside the US. 

We will continue to operate as a responsible corporate citizen and are committed to serving the needs of our customers in complete compliance with our regulatory requirements. 

IOM Gambling Supervision Commission Statement, June 29 2011 

The Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission wishes to make it clear that the licensing status of PokerStars in the Isle of Man remains unchanged following today's statement from the Gambling Control Commission in Alderney. Alderney is a separate jurisdiction from the Isle of Man and the operation in question is separate from PokerStars. 

PokerStars continues to demonstrate compliance with its licence conditions in the Isle of Man. PokerStars continues to offer withdrawals to any players who wish to withdraw their funds, including players in the USA to whom PokerStars does not currently offer real-money gaming.

The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) has suspended Full Tilt’s licences, requiring the poker room to suspend all operations from the jurisdiction with immediate effect.

The AGCC said in a statement this morning: “The decision to suspend these licenses follows a special investigation prompted by the indictments unsealed by US Attorney General’s Office in the Southern District of New York on 15th April 2011, during which grounds were found to indicate that these licensees and their business associates were operating contrary to Alderney legislation."

　　平日甚少買彩票

　　四十九歲的梁碧儀是在二十七年前從香港移民加國，平日只是間中買彩票。她於五月買了一張「至多彩」彩票，贏得一張免費彩票（Free Play Ticket）。直至上周，梁才有時間去換取該免費彩票，她如常以電腦隨機號碼方式買了一張彩票，當時也沒有留意該期的巨額彩金數目。

　　梁碧儀接受記者訪問時稱，她於開獎後到一間彩票零售店核對是否中獎時，那個電腦掃描器掃描彩票之後，彈出一串長長的彩金銀碼，她也不知有多少個數字，只知是一個大獎。她向零售店的女職員查問獎金有多少，那女職員告訴她，獎金是八位數字的二千二百多萬元。

　　梁碧儀還不敢相信這是事實，零售店的女職員多番告訴她，她手上的彩票確實中了頭獎。吃了一驚的梁碧儀，臉色轉紅兼感到頭痛。當天她如常上班，同事還不斷問她是否有不適，但她卻不想把中獎的消息告訴任何人。

　　可圓夢與父同住

　　目前與表親同住烈治文山市一個公寓單位的梁碧儀，周四到安省博彩公司領取總數為22,646,018.7加元的巨額彩金。她於領獎後向記者表示，希望與家人分享彩金，尤其是她那八十五歲獨居亞省愛民頓的老父，把他接到多倫多居住。此外，她也希望全家外出旅行。

　　梁碧儀笑稱，她會首先告訴父親，他的女兒已經成為加國新一個千萬富婆，由於爸爸患有高血壓，因此告訴他這個消息時，速度要慢一點，以免他受刺激。她一直渴望與父親同住，但礙於經濟能力不能負擔，這次中了二千多萬加元彩金，終於可以實現與父親同住這個多年願望了。

U.S. Rep. Joe Barton of Texas plans to introduce a federal bill to legalize online poker, hoping to pull the estimated $6 billion industry out of the shadows at a time when its top operators are facing serious legal troubles.

The Republican lawmaker told The Associated Press he plans to introduce a bill on Friday that would let states choose whether they want to allow residents to play poker on the Internet.

He says potential operators would apply through a newly created office in the Commerce Department and need to have gambling licenses in at least one state.

Barton says he thinks the measure has a chance to pass as a stand-alone bill before the end of this session.

Current laws bar financial institutions from processing gambling payments.

       來自《每日鏡報》的驚爆消息，皇馬明星球員C朗近日表示如果想讓他加盟曼城，那麼自己的週薪至少要達到40萬鎊。

       消息稱，英超「暴發戶」曼城有意簽下皇馬明星，但是對於曼城的青睞，C朗也毫不留情的提出了自己的加盟條件。當然除了最基本的週薪40萬鎊之外，這位葡萄牙明星還提出了另外的兩個條件，第一是他希望成為球會中收入最高的球員，第二是他需要球隊的7號球衣和隊長袖標。

       另外《每日鏡報》還稱關於C朗加盟曼城的傳聞得到了相關知情人的確認，《每日鏡報》援引知情人的話稱：「C朗說現在有人與他接觸，他還稱自己為這樣的傳聞感到榮幸。」

      「他還宣稱曼城正在努力讓他前往東地球場，英格蘭的稅收比較高，所以他想要40萬鎊的週薪。」

      來自《每日鏡報》之前的消息就曾披露稱C朗與主帥摩連奴的關係已經破裂，在得不到「狂人」的支持下，皇馬很有可能會將球隊目前最值錢的球員賣出套現。

That's the view of gaming mogul Sheldon Adelson, who believes Macau has little to fear from new casinos opening up throughout Asia.

"The Asian gambling and entertainment market is not just growing, it's exploding," said Adelson, who added that the industry is unique because it is supply driven.

"You can create a market anywhere you want. There is nothing different between people in Europe and Asia. Grown-ups just want a place to spend money and be entertained."

He said Macau operates "a gaming and entertainment industry," where convention and exhibition facilities play their part.

"MICE (Meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) are important because they are what fill the rooms on weekdays. We cannot simply depend on day-trip tourists from Guangdong."

Adelson, chairman and chief executive of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, parent company of the Venetian Macau, has often been credited for bringing life to the Cotai Strip.

He was speaking at the Global Gaming Expo Asia in Macau, where he was presented with a "visionary award." Previous recipients include casino king Stanley Ho Hung-sun.

Using Marina Bay Sands in Singapore as an example, Adelson said integrated resorts are the way forward because they offer something for everyone.

"I see an integrated resort as a sort of adult Disneyland, where adults go to be entertained and to have fun."

But some individuals try to take advantage of the system and cheat in casinos, especially at the most popular game in Macau: baccarat.

According to US casino game protection expert Sal Piacente, baccarat is especially popular with cheats because there are few factors that can affect the outcome of a rigged game. Most scammers collude with a casino dealer.

While professional scammers are harder to detect, Piacente said most amateur cheats can be quickly detected.

A 21-year-old gambler committed suicide by driving his car off the top of a casino car park.

Robert Jamison, of Lower Macungie, Pennsylvania, drove through steel railings and off the top of the Sands Casino Resort car park.

He was known by the casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, but did not gamble there before driving his Ford Escort off the seventh storey.

Wreckage: The car soared for several seconds before it hit the ground nose-first and tipped back onto its wheels, witnesses said

Mr Jamison was a customer at the casino but he did not gamble there on Tuesday before the incident happened, police told The Express-Times.

Nothing in the casino's records suggest at this stage that his suicide itself was linked to gambling, Bethlehem Lieutenant Mark DiLuzio said.

He drove his car through a railing of steel bars and cables on Tuesday at around 9am but there were no skid marks, police said.

The car soared for several seconds before it hit the ground nose-first and tipped back onto its wheels, witnesses said.

Nobody else was injured, but his vehicle crashed into the pavement only metres away from another car, which had a driver inside.

The driver was moving slowly through the car park below and looked up to see the car falling so he stopped and it fortunately landed nearby.

Mr Jamison was pulled out by fire-fighters but died later in hospital.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim ruled the death a suicide from serious blunt force injuries, but said that no note was found.

Police believe it is unlikely he accidentally rolled out of a space as the steel barriers are made to withstand speeds of up to 65 miles per hour.

A relative named 'Stacy' posted on his Myspace page today: 'I signed onto here for the first time in years just to see your face. 

'The whole family is so torn apart. I will really miss you and this is just an awful thing.

It comes five weeks after a 76-year-old woman fatally drove through a concrete barrier and off the fourth storey of a car park in Los Angeles.
