The Merge poker network has announced that it will no longer be accepting new players from any of five US states - Maryland, New York, Louisiana, Washington and Missouri. It will also no longer be taking French bets, according to a release picked up by poker forums today. 

The network - which continues to accept US players from other states - confirmed earlier this month that it would stop offering rakeback for any players who sign up after 1 June. Yesterday one Merge site, Hero Poker, revealed that it would not be accepting new players from anywhere within the US.
